Nice little John Wayne Comic Book Collection. 1953-1962. 8 different issues

More from the southern california vaults of Oldcomix! This is a very solid set, good quality. Great covers of The Duke include the early Toby Press issue.

Grading is very subjective but I grade down for staining, spine, roll, tears, etc. 2.0 Good, 3.0 Good plus, 4.0 very good, 5.0 very good plus, 6.0 fine (at first glance, 6.0-Fine comics look perfect), 7.0 fine plus, 8.0 very fine, 9.0 near mint.

5.0 grade Very Good+. John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Note Wayne pointing a gun directly at her bosom, great cover! Four Color #1300 (Movie Classic). 4.5 grade Very Good.

This is the best Wayne comic and hard to get in top grade shape because the red cover ink was not stable. This copy is a 3.5 grade Very Good. Wayne as Gengis Khan probably not his best role but the photo cover is striking. With The US marines on the Battlefronts of the World! The photo cover is probably a still from the Sands Of Iwo Jima.

The comic has a John Wayne story possibly from his pre-code comic book run. Hard to find in decent shape, this copy is 6.0.
